Obama you got it wrong this time.

Man, you can possibly cover this as something other than protectionism policy.

I'm no big fan of so-called economic liberalism but this is so obviously politically motivated move that doesn't give a damn about our global commercial contexts.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that this is gonna trigger a global tariff war between the United States and China but man you slapped me on my face by mistaking responsible financial and commercial regulation with protecting American commercial interests at the cost of potential trade war between the two most financially influential states on earth.

Man GFC isn't over yet. History is replete with examples of being complacent too early after some signs of recovery and being slapped back even more harshly when you put your hands away from the matter.

Recent stock surges do not mean that the crisis is over and recovery is on the road. It just means that people forget fast.

Obama you chose the wrong direction this time. Protectionism is not the answer for America's declining competitiveness in the market.

About Europeans

Who knows better than Europeans the dangers that arise from unbridles power politics, from an excessive reliance on military force, from policies produced by national egoism and ambition, even from balance of power and raison d'etat?

Not inevitable?

Globalization is now regularly cited as a reason to promote measures to reduce workers' rights and lessen other constraints on business. Such ideological justifications for policies which favour the interests of business cna only be countered through a broader understanding of the relationship between the political and economic structures of capitalism. As we have seen, the understanding proffered by the Marxist theorists suggests that there is nothing natural or inevitable about a world order based on a global market. Rather than accept the inevitability of the present order, the task facing us is to lay the foundations for a new way of organizing society- a global society which is more just and more humane than our own.

.....I din't know that Marxism can sound so utopian... it's almost painful...

How could you do that, Gramsci?

Combining pessimism of the intellect with optimism of the will...

How?
