테디는 진성 리얼리스트였구나;

"A milk-and-water righteousness unbacked by force is to the full as wicked as and even more mischievous than force divorced from righteousness." (p.40)

"Korea is absolutely Japan's. To be sure, by treaty it was solemnly covenanted that Korea should remain independent. But Korea was itself helpless to enforce the treaty, and it was out of question to suppose that any other nation...would attempt to do for the Koreans what they were utterly unable to do for themselves. (p.41)"

"I was thoroughly pleased with the Japanese victory, for Japan is playing our game."

"I am not taking sides one way or the other as concerns the violation or disregard of these treaties. When giants are engaged in a death wrestle, as they reel to and fro they are certain to trample on whoever gets in the way of either of the huge, straining combatants, unless it is dangerous to do so." (p.42)
"Diplomacy", Henry Kissinger, 1994
